When the Awards began 33 years ago, YWCA Silicon Valley recognized the achievements of 25 executive women and their companies for their commitment to expanding professional opportunities for women. This event was one of the many ways the YWCA was breaking ground in Silicon Valley.
This tradition known as the Tribute to Women Awards continues today with over 1,300 women having been recognized for their outstanding achievements in the workplace and beyond.
Emerging Leaders Awards - In addition to the Tribute to Women Awards, YWCA Silicon Valley honors those women early in their careers who demonstrate leadership and innovation within their company. has been at the forefront of the most critical social movements – from civil rights, to affordable housing and pay equity, to violence prevention. YWCA is part of an international movement serving over 2 million in the United States, impacting over 18,000 in Silicon Valley, and 25 million worldwide in 120 countries.
YWCA is on a mission to empower by working to end racism and violence, to achieve solutions for survivors of violence facing homelessness and to inspire by closing the education and prosperity gap.
YWCA Silicon Valley is one door to many solutions for those who have been impacted by violence. This year alone, we will open our doors over 20,000 times to provide critical services to our clients’ needs including shelter, housing, counseling, child care, and education and prevention programming.
